Mary Jane Lamond’s career spans from the early 90’s when she wrote the song “Sleepy Maggie” and toured with Ashley MacIsaac, through to today, with her new release of traditional Celtic music with fellow artist Wendy MacIsaac. Seinn is a powerful collaboration borne of a longtime friendship and a shared love of Celtic music. Whether it’s the mesmerizing Gaelic vocals of Mary Jane, or the superb and true musicianship of Wendy on the fiddle, these ladies have been making their mark with traditional audiences worldwide for over two decades.

Mary Jane hails from Ontario and Montreal, is currently living in Glendale, Cape Breton and is a graduate of the Celtic Studies program at St. FX University. As a member of the Gaelic Council of Nova Scotia, she is active in the ongoing preservation and revitalization of the Scottish Gaelic culture in Canada. Mary Jane received the prestigious Portia White Prize in 2008 in recognition of her efforts to preserve Gaelic culture through song.
